Howard Carter
Howard Carter: 9may 1874 2march 1939. Was an English archaelogist and egyptologist noted as a primary discoverer of the tomb of Tutankhamun. He first came to Egypt in 1891 at the age of 17. In 1908, Carter was employed by Lord Carnarvon. Carnarvon financed Carter s work in the Valley of the Kings till 1914 because of World War I. Work was resumed in 1917. On 4 november 1922 Carter s water carrier found the steps leading to the tomb. The cataloging and clearance of the tomb continued until 1932. Carte
