Dennis Ferrer Hey Hey, The Making Of A House Hit
New Yorkraised DJ and producer, Dennis Ferrer, shares the story behind his 2010 house hit, Hey Hey. Once a forgotten project on his harddrive, Ferrer tells DJ Mag how it was his daughter chanting Hey Hey around the house that led him to believe the track was going to be a hit. Originally released via his own Objektivity label; Hey Hey was later signed by Simon Dunmores Defected Records and has since become one of the house music labels staple records. 14 years on from its release, it has had fresh remixes from Kitty Amor and David Guettas Jack Back alias, and remains a firm dance floor favourite.
