Aeneas meets his mother Venus
A reading of a passage from the first book of the Aeneid, verses 305410, in the original Latin. The diacritical marks on the vowels are used in the following manner: All long vowels are marked with macrons, while all short syllables (note the distinction ) are marked with breves. This has the implication that unmarked vowels are those that are short but which stand in a syllable long by position. Elided vowels are in grey. Some of my other recitations can be found at
