Geheimpapiere im alten Büro: Biden überrascht über Dokumentenfund
USPräsident Joe Biden sagte am Dienstag, er sei überrascht gewesen, als er erfuhr, dass seine Anwälte in einem ehemaligen Büro in Washington, D. C. Regierungsunterlagen gefunden hätten. Während des Gipfels der nordamerikanischen Staats und Regierungschefs erklärte Biden vor Reportern in MexikoStadt, er wisse nicht, was in den Dokumenten stehe, und fügte hinzu, seine Anwälte hätten ihm nahegelegt, nicht nachzufragen, was darin enthalten sei. Das Justizministerium prüft jetzt diese Angelegenheit, und der oberste Republikaner im Geheimdienstausschuss des Repräsentantenhauses hat den USGeheimdienst aufgefordert, eine Schadensbewertung der Dokumente vorzunehmen. Im August wurden auch bei Bidens Amtsvorgänger Donald Trump Geheimdokumente gefunden, woraufhin Biden ihn stark kritisiert hatte und sein Verhalten im September als unverantwortlich bezeichnete.
