Twinkles From Follow A Star (1930)
The new musical comedy from the Winter Garden Theatre in London is featured: Follow a Frederick Carpenter does an acrobatic dance called Rome. He leaps over a bevy of chorus girls dressed as Roman girls and does gymnastic leaps and turns. Sophie Tucker and the Roman Guards (Jack Hulbert, Claude Hulbert and A. W. Baskcomb) get together. They do a little comedy routine involving bashing into each other when they march. Sophie sings a song (note no sound) and the soldiers try and lift her up. Jack and Claude Hulbert trip the light fantastic dressed as policemen. They dance together as if with a woman cheek to cheek. It is a bit of an Apache dance with one throwing the other around a bit. Quite funny. One of them poses with a rose in their mouth. Was an item in Eve s Film Review issue number 488. FILM A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
