Native American Cheyenne Dog Soldiers vs 5th Cavalry Conflict Summit Springs Battlefield Colorado
In this video we visit the famous battlefield of Summit Springs in the heart of the Colorado Plains. During this battle, the Cheyenne Chief Tall Bull and his Dog Soldiers went up against the United States 5th Cavalry at The Battle of Summit Springs, on July 11, 1869. Even Buffalo Bill Cody was present. During this battle, Chief Tall Bull, the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers, was killed. The US forces were assigned to retaliate for a series of raids in northcentral Kansas by Chief Tall Bull s Dog Soldiers band of the Cheyenne. And to rescue two woman that were taken captive. The battle happened south of Sterling, Colorado in Washington County near the Logan, Washington county line.
