True stories of human depravity are sensationalized in a series of women s magazines such as CHAT, Pick Me Up, That s Life, Take A Break and Love It. Rape, murder and abuse are fetishized on the covers of magazines next to the smiling faces of models, cake baking recipes, weight loss advice and offers of cash prizes. These magazines are also visible on shelf stores to children. This video explores the contradictions, the hypocrisy and offers theories about the motives of both publishers and readership.
