Matthew Modine on why To Kill a Mockingbird role is more than just a role that I want to play
Golden Globewinner and Stranger Things actor Matthew Modine joined The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky to talk about starring in Aaron Sorkins adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. From Monday 21st November, the American actor is set to take on the role of Atticus Finch, in an adaptation from West Wing and Social Network creator Sorkin, at Londons Gielgud Theatre. Matthew told Chris: It s an amazing part and its an important part. While its about systemic racism in the United States, and the judicial system, its about something much bigger. Its about anybody who has to run away from something because theyre scared, and because of their race, or their religion. Its about that. Its about something that happens around the world. Justice is supposed to be blind, and if we cant get a fair trial because of our sexual orientation, or our sex, or the colour of our skin, then the judicial system is a lie. Website: Twitter:
