Nosmo King (1934)
No titles. Nosmo King is introduced by unknown man in white tie and tails on a stage. We hear a cork pop offstage and the man says Pardon me, but I hear my supper s been poured out, and walks off. Cut to radio and variety comedian Nosmo King (aka Vernon Watson) in a white bowler hat, braided uniform, white glasses and blackface makeup. He stands on a stage and there is a man standing in the pit before him (probably Hubert, aka Jack Watson). He heckles Nosmo and they engage in some crosstalk and jokes, all barked out without much charm or humour (in this cataloguer s humble opinion ). Nosmo starts reading out the weather forecast. Hubert says he can t speak to the audience like that and Nosmo says Don t blame me if you have a wet week. They talk about a party they went to last night. Nosmo mentions the little girl he was dancing with at the party and complains that she was skinny in the best places.
