Grabbing Images From New Russian Satellite ( Meteor M2 3)
My last video on Russian Meteor satellites was pretty popular, so I did a follow up now that another satellite in this series has been launched. This one is brand new, going into orbit June 27th of 2023. It replaces the older Meteor M22 that suffered damage earlier this year and stopped transmitting on 137mhz. I had a lot of trouble getting the signal from this one recorded and processed, and there are probably things I could have done better. What seemed to work best for me was: 1: Looking up pass times on 2: Recording the signal on during the pass, with a RTLSDR v3, SAWbirdNOAA filter, and QFH antenna connected to a Raspberry Pi computer (timeout 15m rtlfm M raw s 120000 f E dc g 48 p 1 3: Converting that output to a wav file (sox t raw r 120k c 2 b 16 e s t wav 4: Opening the wav file in Satdump, using pipeline for Meteor M2x LRPT, and using frequency offset of 1 and DC blocking on.
