David Bowie on MTV 10 Spot 10 14 97, The Jean Genie and Im Afraid of Americans

On October 14, 1997, after the Rolling Stones made a last minute cancellation, David Bowie stepped up and performed an excellent concert on the premiere of MTV s 10 Spot. The only source for this video that I have is from a mono video source that a friend (with very good taste in music) lent to me. I am thankful that I have been able to see this show. The songs performed on this segment are both The Jean Genie and I m Afraid of Americans. This is indeed a great performance by David Bowie, Reeves Gabrel, Gail Ann Darcy, Zachary Alford, and Mike Garson. And definitely killer versions of The Jean Genie and I m Afraid of Americans, for sure archivist: David Saddler
