Tandava, Bharatanatyam and Kathak

Mridang humbly presents Tandava, a classical dance duet choreography on Shiva Tandava Strotram. Tāṇḍavam is the divinely vigorous dance of Hindu God Shiva. Shiva Tandava Strotram (authorship attributed to Ravana) is a beautiful description of and homage to the Gods energetic dance. Shivas matted locks, Gangas fierce flow, his body entwined by snakes, the moon shining on his head, the shaking Earth, the sound of the Damaru, his kind benefacting glances, his constant company of Parvati, all send waves of excessive joy in the minds of the devotees. The description of Shivas tandava reflects the dynamics of every aspect of the mighty God.
