During the Second World War, there were many people who were executed on the gallows inside of occupied lands. But Pole Hanging was a method of execution used inside of Hungary and Czechoslovakia, and at the end of the war there were many war criminals executed in these countries by pole hanging. Kurt Daluege was the Chief of the Order Police who was executed in this way, Ferenc Szalasi was the Hungarian Head Of State who was also condemned using pole hanging. Thousands of people flocked to see these executions at the end of World War 2.
