INGUSHETIA, CHECHNYA: ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS

Russian, Nat As millions of Russian Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas, Russian troops and Chechen refugees are spending the holiday on the ChechnyaIngushetia border. Some Chechens have called for a holiday ceasefire, but Russian Generals have said there will be no truce during the Christmas holiday. Many Russian soldiers are spending the Orthodox Christmas fighting Chechen rebels. Churches are quiet and the gates are closed near the Chechen border. Russian soldier, Natasha Zayets, say
