This 1, 200 pound, blind bison has become an awesome nanny for animals in need
She went from being shy and lonelyto basically being the sanctuary matriarch. Helen was rescued at an auction when she was a babyand she lived with the same personas a companion for almost 13 years. Unfortunately, her human friend got sickand Helen needed a new home. So we stepped up and offered Helena forever home atLighthouse Farm Sanctuary. When she first got here, she was a little skittishand afraid of the other animals. She didn t quite have any experiencebeing around goats or cows or horses, or really any other animals for that matter. So she was quite shybut we could tell she was lonely. We tried to introduce herto some of our older rescue friends, but she really wasn t interested, and she kind of just kept to herself.
