The City Of Night Lights (1927)
Paris, France. Lights illuminate on the Eiffel Tower. Shots of Paris lit up at night with extravagant illuminations including a sign that says Pigalle. Displays featuring clowns and dragons are shown. Via an intertitle the question is asked: why can t we instil some attractive lighting like this into our Metropolis, and make a brighter City to attract the great Tourist stream . Illuminated fountains are shown and nice shots of an illumination featuring pierrots blowing bubbles. Was an item in Pathe Pictorial issue 573. Safety print exists. Note: nice shots although film has some image damage. See which is a digibeta copy of the safety print. The safety print version looks slightly softer but less damage to image.
