OCD: Starving The Monster, Tauscha Johanson, TEDx Idaho Falls
Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is not about having tidy, colorcoded closet shelves. Living with OCD is like living with a monster, driving the afflicted to extreme behaviors that compromise quality of life. As mother to an OCD daughter, Tauscha Johanson describes their familys discovery of how to starve the monster, making it weaker in the process, and everyones life a little better. People have questioned Tauscha Johansons unconventional approach to life since college where she studied zoology, premedicine, then redirected her attention to her family instead of going to medical school. Obstacles and negative opinions didnt sway her when she fought to get treatment for her daughters OCD, rose to leadership in pharmaceuticals, or chose a risky, but tremendously successful career in direct sales. Whats not in question is whether she knows how to lift, edify, and teach to empower others. Tauschas biggest concern is making a difference and having a positive impact on the lives
