English for academic purposes and learning opportunities with Craig Thaine
In recent years, there has been an increase in the resources available for teaching English for academic purposes (EAP). This session outlines a framework for making principled decisions about how EAP teaching resources can be adapted and supplemented to meet learners needs and institutional requirements. It uses Crabbes (2007) notion of learning opportunities as a means to add value to published materials. The session demonstrates how learning opportunities can be applied in a practical way to the evaluation of some published EAP material.
