Legendary Food Hidden in a No Stoplight Town
Tucked away in the tiny town of Bovina, NY in the Catskill Mountains is Russells General Store: a quaint small general store with one of New Yorks best bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. Antonio, a former executive chef of Quality Bistro in NYC, moved up to Bovina during the pandemic to cook at Russells at the urging of friends who left the city to start anew in Bovina. Along with piemaker Maggie, the two run the food program at Russells General Store, which also stocks classic and unexpected dry goods.
