Christmas Night MASSIVE FIRE in Yonkers engulfs entire apartment building

4th Alarm Date: Christmas 2021 Location: Elliot Avenue, Yonkers. On Christmas night Yonkers fire dispatchers received 911 calls reporting fire in an apartment building. Personnel monitoring Yonkers PD security cameras in the area observed heavy fire venting from the roof of the apartment building and relayed this to FD dispatchers. Ladder 74 arrived first due along with Engine 304 and confirmed fire through the roof. Battalion 1 transmitted the 1030 signal confirming a working fire. Fire quickly spread through the walls to every floor of the building from front to rear. 4 Alarms were transmitted. Crews worked on all exposure with multiple hand lines, ladder pipes, and tower ladders to bring the fire under control.
