Though I couldn t attend the full annual conference of the North American Rock Garden Society this June, (which was conveniently hosted in Ithaca, NY), I did take up an opportunity to visit three private gardens in Syracuse that gave us a sense as to how a laboroflove and decades of gardening can transform a land.
