No Iron Curtain Putin: Will not make the Soviet mistake of closing off Russian economy You Tube
President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that no Iron Curtain would fall over the Russian economy, despite the sanctions imposed by the West, because Moscow would not close itself off from the world like the Soviet Union did. Putin said the country would focus on developing domestic industry and cooperate with China, India, and the Middle East, after Western companies and investors left Russia. Despite the Wests efforts to phase out Russian energy, Russia will not block off their oil wells, Putin added. On the same day, the Kremlin said Gazprom would not cut gas supply to any more European customers since their plan to make buyers pay in rubles was functioning as intended.
