Modelling Criminals (1934)
Titles read: Modelling Criminals Vienna, Austria. In a workshop we see various shots of a criminal having an ear print taken for the Viennese police. This is apparently the next step on from taking fingerprints. While other men work on model heads and limbs a man puts rubber or clay over the criminal s ear, then puts a hairdryer on it so that it dries. The dried mould is removed from the ear and plaster of Paris is poured in. Shot of the finished model ear held next to the real lug hole. Bizarre shots of hundreds of model ears hung up in rows.
