Kyoso Shigetoshi Sensei and his students demonstrating Tenshin Shoden Katori Shintoryu Kenjutsu during the 42nd Nihon Kobudo Embutaikai held at the Nippon Budokan on February 3rd, 2019. The event also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Nihon Kobudo Kyokai. Tenshin Shoden Katori Shintoryu is one of the oldest Japanese martial arts schools. It was founded by Duke Iizasa Ienao in 1447, when he retired to the Katorijingu shrine in Katori, which was dedicated to Futsunushi no Mikoto, a tutelary deity of martial arts.
