Boney M. : Kalimba De Luna 20 Happy Songs ( Vol. 1) 1984
The year of 1984 saw Boney M. return with the album 10, 000 Lightyears after a 2 year album break and Reggie Tsiboe replacing Bobby Farrell in the lineup. The new album was not the successful comeback that the group was hoping for. Farian started recording a new Christmas album over the summer of 1984 when he heard an Italian single, Kalimba De Luna, and decided to record this with Reggie Tsiboe. It was rushed out as a Boney M. single (despite neither Liz Mitchell nor Marcia Barrett singing on it) in August 84 and soared to, 13 in the German charts, Boney M. s best chart placing in three years. Farian then reunited the group with Bobby Farrell for the followup single Happy Song, a title riding the italodisco, breakdance wave. It peaked at, 7 in Germany towards the end of the year.
