Playing MP3 music from an 8 inch floppy disk
The 8 inch floppy disk does remind a bit of the LP record due to its size. I decided to find out if it was possible to play music from one. Keep in mind that I am not referring to MIDI music, but a real encoded MP3. Of course, quality is subpar, but this PC has a 100 Mhz 80486 processor, so it isn t suited for high bitrates anyway. The drive playing the music is a YEDATA YD180 originally from a Fairlight CMI, so it should feel right at home playing music (albeit in a different format) The music playing is Seashore from Mats Schubert and Per Blomqvist.
