Mother Night (1996) English An American spy behind the lines during WWII serves in Germany as a Nazi propagandist. He cannot escape that role after the war because the U. S. government will never reveal that while promoting the Third Reich he was working as an undercover agent. Based on the book Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. The movie follows the book closely. Vonnegut cowrote the screenplay and he has a cameo in the movie. The theme of Mother Night is: You must be careful what you pretend to be. Because in the end you are what you pretend to be.
