The Little Prince By Mikhail Mazel
The Little Prince are not necessary to me. . .. I am not necessary to you. But if you tame me, we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the Antoine de SaintExupéry. When sorrow fills my home, a tide, In twilight s grasp, like thieves soft skills, To window, I will quietly slide, And blend into the night s quiet thrills As stars in multitude I see, Their laugh and cry to me, they send. The gleam of eyes, tearfully free, Awakes the hope, success to mend. Recalling friends, both near and gone, The ones far off, yet close in heart, Those I ve tamed, as time has shone, And those who ve tamed me, played their part. I m sure, in darkness, deep and sheer, Amidst the vastness, void and dim, There s one, remembering me here, With whom in thoughts, together, swim. And night, bestowing calm so dear, Lets rest a slumber calls. Its piercing theme, to me so clear, A tiny bells recalls. Sept. 12, 1992 by Misha Mazel
