The piece was written for and on this instrument however, the tuning of the SubBass strings, which are traditionally tuned chromatically, was adapted for this performance and retuned (low to high): D, F, F,, G, G,, A, B, C, D. The top 6 strings of the fretted fingerboard maintain their standard guitar tuning. In
