NG 21 Falcon 9 launches S. S. Francis R. Scobee Cygnus and Falcon 9 first stage landing
For NASAs Commercial Resupply Services2 (CRS2) NG21 mission, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the CRS21 Cygnus spacecraft, dubbed S. S. Francis R. Dick Scobee, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on 4 August 2024, at 15:02 UTC (11:02 EDT). The NG21 Cygnus delivers nearly 3, 720 kg (nearly 8, 200 pounds) of supplies to the International Space Station and is scheduled to be captured with the stations robotic arm on 6 August 2024, around 07:10 UTC (03:10 EDT). The NG21 Cygnus Cargo Delivery Spacecraft is named after the former NASA astronaut Francis R. Dick Scobee. Following stage separation, Falcon 9s first stage landed at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Landing Zone 1 (LZ1). Falcon 9s first stage (B1080) previously supported 9 missions: Ax2, ESA Euclid, Ax3, CRS30, ASTRA 1P and 4 Starlink missions. Credit: NASA, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, Cygnus
