Petrichor ( Michael Kim Sheng) Davisson Guitar Duo
Petrichor (n) petrichor is the fresh smell of rain after a long period of drought. Inspired by Petrichor the word, Petrichor the music embodies the resurgence of life that follows the first rainfall. A new composition for two guitars by Michael KimSheng, written for and performed by the Davisson Duo, Petrichor invites the listener to engage with a musical narrative that reflects both the enduring and transitory beauty of nature. Petrichor the music video, directed by Kay Niuyue Zhang, tells the story of a brother and sister with little in common who uncover the mysterious power of music to bring them closer, not only to each other, but to another who loved them in the past. Set in an old farmhouse surrounded by orange groves, Petrichor takes us on a nostalgic journey where the innocence of childhood, the sweetness of the earth and the magic of music restore our faith and sense of belonging during the time of a global pandemic. Sheet music for Petrichor is available from Bergmann Edition
