Yo La Tengo The Sounds of the Sounds of Science Live Visuals
In early 2001, Yo La Tengo were requested to provide a live score for a selection of Jean Painleve s mesmerizing psychedelic undersea nature documentaries, to be played at the San Francisco Film Festival. This ultimately led to a series of approximately 12 live performances in which the band would accompany the films with their unique sonic atmosphere, aptly titled The Sounds of the Sounds of I ve done my best to recreate this live experience by pairing the original films with studio recorded versions of Yo La Tengo s original tracks.
