Gentle Genevieve With The Toothy Grin
The very beautiful Miss Genevieve is a Gould s wattled bat and she was rescued off a 14th floor apartment patio by Paul. Microbats commonly fly into glass doors and windows and like Genevieve, they generally only need a couple of days in care before being released back to the wild. Weighing in at 11. 8 grams, Genevieve is keeping me busy chopping the heads off her nightly mealworm feast before feeding them to her. Gould s wattled bats feed on moths, cockroaches, katydids crickets, beetles and other bugs and they are fast fliers which can zoom along at up to 36 kilometres per hour.
