Gregorian Chant for Spiritual Warfare: NOVA BELLA

Joan of Arc fought new battles at God s command to free France from foreign oppression. Alongside the king s army, the angels fought on her side. She gave her tender life for this mission. People like her are still needed today, called by the Lord to liberate not only France but so many nations from the threat of antiChristian occupation. This time it will be a purely spiritual battle, fought in the name of the Lord against the principalities, powers and evil spirits (cf. Eph 6:12). St. Joan of Arc will come to the aid of the Church militant in these new wars and is only waiting for us to ask her. It is in this spirit that we sing this Gradual, proper to the Mass in memory of Saint Joan of Arc, based on a passage from the Book of Judges (5:8, 11).
