Monster, the ending: Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron s character, Aileen, receiving her death sentence. To me, it s an incredibly sad scene, as in Aileen s first angry and then cynical reaction you can clearly sense how her tragic upbringing and background have turned her into what she eventually became, as all the hopes she once held dear, were shattered. The last straw was when she was betrayed by the woman she loved, played by Christina Ricci.
