Isidor Seiss Contra Dance 1 in C Major (after Beethoven) Sofia Cosma Piano

This piece is sometimes included in music books as a Beethoven composition. However, it is actually an arrangement by Isidor Seiss (18401905) of music by Beethoven. This is the only professionally recorded version I could find. There are two more Contra Dances arranged by Seiss, but I can only find all three in MIDI format. These are light but enjoyable pieces. Wikipedia describes Seiss as a German composer, conductor, pianist, piano pedagogue and philanthropist. Sofia Cosma (19142011) was born in Belarus and died in California. This piece doesn t really show what an incredible pianist she was as it isn t terribly difficult (even I play it). To read more about her, visit this page:
