Workers From Wales (1946)
Titles read: WORKERS from WALES. Edmonton, London. Various shots show four Welsh girls sitting around a table having breakfast. They are named as Nancy Lewis, Melvis Peters, Alice Packer and Myra James from the Methyr Valley, staying at Mrs Joyncey s home (boarding house ). One girl gets a letter from home. As the girls get ready for work and set off down the street, commentator explains they are going back to Wales as soon as they have learnt to make electric lamps in an Edmonton Factory. They will then help to run a new modern factory in their home town. Several shots of the women being instructed in their work at the factory. We see them eating at lunchtime in the factory canteen and wandering around the local shops. They look in the window of a toy show and one girl goes in to buy a doll for her sister.
