Beneath the Crystal Veil, CALM PIANO, Luke Faulkner
I wrote this in the winter when the lake had frozen over. Everything was fairly still beneath the ice, but the pondweed ebbed slightly it was quite hypnotic. Crystal veil comes from a poem by Emily Dickinson in which she evokes winter without using the bogstandard words snow, ice, cold, etc. She s an absolute hero as, had I not come across that poem, this might have been entitled Beneath the snow, ice, cold.
