She risked her life to save others, now she needs
80 years ago, Mrs. Lyubov Volchek, risked her life to save a little Jewish girl, now she needs our help. On June 27, 1941, the Germans occupied the small Belarusian town of Glusk and only 6 months later, on December 12, all the local Jews were ordered to gather in the town square and were marched unknowingly towards mass graves, where they were murdered. Two days later, 11yearold Olga Shulman knocked on the Arkhiptsovs door after having crawled out from under the dead body of her mother and then hiding in the fields. Despite the risk of death if caught and extreme financial difficulties, Lyubovs mother, Arkhiptsova hid the child in a shed in her yard. Lyubov looked after her and even slept in the hiding place to keep her company.
