The Windsong Pack: second largest wolf pack in Winter 2022 2023

A great look at the 5 Windsong Pack pups that survived to their first birthday This video is from December 2022 when pups were about 8 months old. So while the pups are starting to look more and more adultlike, they still have some clear puplike features their faces). A pack having 5 pups survive is not the norm in our area. For perspective, average winter pack size over the past decade has only been 4. 6 wolves and in the typical pack, two of the 4. 6 wolves will be the breeding pair. Because so many pups survived, the Windsong Pack ended up being the second largest pack in the Greater Voyageurs Ecosystem this past winter with 7 wolves: the breeding male, the breeding female, and 5 pups.
