THE DOBERMAN
The Doberman Pinscher, often simply called the Doberman, is a medium to large breed of domestic dog known for its sleek, powerful appearance and intelligent, alert demeanor. This breed was originally developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a German tax collector, in the late 19th century. He aimed to create a loyal and protective companion that could accompany him on his rounds. Characteristics and Appearance Dobermans are characterized by their muscular build, short coat, and athletic physique. They typically have a noble, wedgeshaped head, almondshaped eyes, and ears that are often cropped to stand erect (though natural ears are becoming more accepted). Their tails are usually docked, though this practice is also becoming less common. The coat is short, smooth, and closelying, coming in colors such as black, blue, red, and fawn, usually with rustcolored markings.
