President Raisi on tour of three African nations, as Iran steps up its diplomacy

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is on an Africa tour and visiting Uganda on the second leg of the trip and the first in over a decade. During the visit, President Raisi has claimed that Western countries are exploiting developing nations for their own financial gain, and has also said that Tehran is ready to help construct an oil refinery and pipeline in Uganda.
