Alciona, for viola and electronics

This piece for viola and electronics was commissioned by the performer Alona Khlevna. Composer Tatiana Riabinkina. Alciona is a person from Greek myphology. She was a daughter of Aeolus and was transformed into a bird (kingfisher or alkonost, who is a womanheaded bird in Russian tradition). Also, it is the name of one star from the constellation of the Pleiades (Matariki in Maori tradition).
