Machining Axles Tracked Amphibious Vehicle Build Ep. 6
Latest video: Machining threading custom axles and turning flanges in the lathe from 47 mm, 2 solid round bar and 12 mm, 1, 2 steel sheet so I m able to attach the 4x108 mm bolt pattern 14 steel rims, drive wheels to the tub of the tracked amphibious vehicle. Again, the plasma cutter is still on hold and thus I m stuck using angle grinders again. The custom made wheel hubs I turned and MIG welded in this powertrain are sealed from the outside environment and preventing water from entering the hull, tub of the all terrain vehicle. The other wheel hubs are bought readymade and already waterproof from a local trailer shop and will have six 4x100 mm bolt pattern Opel steel rims tires as idler wheels. These however will not penetrate the hull of the tracked vehicle. To transmit the power from the skid steering unit I fabricated and shortened from a LADA 2101, Fiat rear axle with disc brakes on it I m using tractor PTO parts and joints br, br,
