According to polls by the magazine Ruskij Reportjór in 2015, his verses led the 25th place among the top 100 most popular poetic texts in Russia. The song is also the main musical theme of the Polish film Ash and Diamonds by Andrzej Wajda (1958), the Israeli short Layla Afel (Dark Night) by Leonid Prudovsky (2005) and the Swedish horror film Frostbite by Anders.
