Replace rear axle seal on a Dodge Ram

This is a step by step video showing how I replaced the left rear axle seal on my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4. The rear axle shown is the very popular Chrysler 9. 25 model, with a classical stop sign shaped cover plate and 12 mounting bolts. This repair was necessary because of a small leak of axle fluid onto the inner brake structure on that side. Axle seal leaks are sometimes associated with a blocked vent tube, which causes a buildup of air pressure within the axle on a hot day, and secondary axle leaks.
