Highlife For Bathers Filmed At The Piccadilly Hotel (1932)
Piccadilly Hotel, London. Introductory intertitle reads: Piccadilly Circus the hub of the world and within 100 yards an open air Bathing Pool Low angle shot of the statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus. Dissolve into a shot of the Piccadilly Hotel. Then shot of part of the roof of the hotel. There is a free standing swimming pool on the roof and several tables with parasols. Up on high Daly s Darlings kick their merry steps to the tune of Edward Ball and his Empire State M, S of a group of dancing girls wearing belted leotards doing a tap dance on the roof, they then skip off in the direction of the pool. But, this is only prepatory to sporting in the Sportapool, high above reads an intertitle. Great shot follows of a girl sliding backwards down a chute into the pool seen from the top of the slide.
