GAME RECAP: Penguins at Avalanche , Sidney Crosbys Four Point Game
The Penguins got off to a roaring start against the Colorado Avalanche, who had won their last eight games going into today s contest. Jesse Puljujarvi started things off by crashing the net and whacking the puck in. Bryan Rust tallied a goal of his own after Sidney Crosby took the puck away in the neutral zone. Rust drove to the net with a power move and slipped the puck home. In the 2nd period, Sidney Crosby s extraeffort lunge towards the puck kept play alive, and he was able to masterfully deflect a shot in behind Avs netminder Georgiev. Then, P. O Joseph s patience with the puck allowed him to wrist the puck in, giving the Penguins a commanding 40 lead. Walker and Trenin would each get some revenge on the Penguins, and the score was 42 in favor of the visitors heading into the 3rd period. Just over threeandahalf minutes into the period, Drouin struck to get Colorado within one.
