Cataract Surgery after Retinal Detachment, 3 Min Polishing , Full Video from Start to Finish
Within a healthy eye is a clear lens. As we become older, that lens becomes cloudy. The cloudy lens is called a Cataract. In cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens implant. Patients who ve undergone previous Retinal Surgery often develop an accelerated Cataract. Cataract Surgery after Retinal Detachment is often more complex than Cataract Surgery in a virgin Eye. This patient had prior LASIK, macular pucker, and Retina Detachment. Her Retinal Detachment was repaired, but that caused a dense cataract to form at a young age. In this video, you can join me in the operating room as I take care of her cataract from start to finish without any editing of the surgery video. The patient is awake and comfortable. I implant a basic monofocal lens in her eye due to her limited macular health. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comment section below
