Why Did the 1979 Islamic Revolution Happen

Like all phenomena or historical events, different factors led to the 1979 Islamic revolution. Some believe the main reason was the dependence of the Shah on foreign countries, and Iranians found it offensive. Therefore Iranians who sought their independence and dignity took to the streets and overthrew the Shah. What do you think was the main factor that led to the 1979 revolution
